Sustainable Management and Equal Opportunities Office

Who are we?

The Sustainable Management and Equal Opportunities Office (GSIO)  is part of the Office of the Deputy General Manager for Staff and Organisation at the UPC. It was set up in 2012, bringing together several experts who had previously been working separately. The aim was to foster change and improvement through cross-disciplinary work.

 

Mission

Its mission is to reinforce the UPC’s commitment to society with regard to sustainable management and equal opportunities.

Its main aim is to promote and coordinate the following plans:

 

• The Sustainable Management Plan

– The Energy-Saving Plan

– The Waste Prevention and Management Plan

 

• The Equal Opportunities Plan

– The Disability Programme

– The Gender Equality Plan

 

Other functions carried out by the Office:

 

• Collaborative promotion of the coordination team for the UPC-CO programme.

• Advice on procurement, investment and fundraising in the areas of sustainable management and equal opportunities.

• Support and guidance in response to queries related to sustainable management and equal opportunities.

• Support for Sustainable Mobility Plans.

• Support for the Senior Citizens' Classroom Programme

 

The principal functions of the GSIO are policy support and coordination; the implementation of improvements; process organisation; advice and profile raising for initiatives; assessment at the school, campus and university levels; and training and promotion in the field of collaborative learning.
